Candle Burning Tips
1. The first burn is the most important. Make sure you burn your candle until the container has a wax pool of ¼ to ½ inch deep and the melted wax reaches all sides of the container. It would be best to do this every time. If you do not burn it long enough, it can cause tunneling in your candle, decrease your burn time, and decrease your scent throw. The standard recommendation is one hour of burn time per inch of your container’s diameter.
2. Burn a candle for a maximum of 4 hours at a time. If you burn it longer, carbon can build up and cause mushrooming on the wick.
3. Trim your wick. A wick trimmer is the easiest way, but scissors will work as well. Your wick should be trimmed to ¼ inch tall every time you burn it to burn most effectively.
4. Don’t blow out your candle. A wick snuffer is the best option.
5. Please don’t leave a burning candle unattended. Also, make sure the candle is in a safe environment, on a stable heat resistant surface, is not located in a draft, and is not around flammable objects, pets, or children.
